Sumana Wolf represents clients in complex commercial litigation and civil rights matters.  She has extensive experience with all stages of litigation, including fact and expert discovery, motions practice, settlement negotiations, and trial.  She has represented clients in a broad range of civil litigation in both federal and state court, including constitutional law issues, civil rights cases, real estate disputes, complex contract disputes, and general business litigation.

Representative Matters

Commercial Litigation

• Represented credit reporting agencies in various commercial matters in federal court
• Represented hedge fund principals in defense of trade secret misappropriation claims and on related counterclaims
• Represented blockchain network against claims of executive regarding termination and token purchase agreements
• Represented landlord in dispute over commercial contract to purchase residential apartment complex
• Represented co-owner in negotiating buy-out of jointly owned real property

Constitutional/Civil Rights Litigation

• Represented plaintiff in lawsuit against police department for use of excessive force
• Represented class of juvenile parolees in case against the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation advocating for the provision of adequate medical care, mental health care, and ADA accommodations to the class in accordance with state constitutional rights
• Represented class of prisoners at county jail in lawsuit against county advocating for adequate medical and mental health care for prisoners

Professional History – Legal

Prior to joining Zeisler PLLC as Counsel in October 2018, Sumana worked as an associate at Schorr Law, APC, as the Assistant Director of the Career Development Center at Loyola Law School, and as an associate at Rosen Bien Galvan & Grunfeld LLP.

Sumana was the recipient of the Northern California Super Lawyers Rising Star Award in both 2012 and 2013.

Education

Sumana earned her undergraduate degree (B.A., ’04) in English (with Honors) cum laude from Williams College.  She earned her law degree (J.D., ’09) from UCLA School of Law, where she was the Co-Chief Comments Editor of the Asian Pacific American Law Journal.
