Meghan Sullivan counsels clients on complex commercial litigation, intellectual property and employment disputes.  She has extensive experience with all stages of litigation, including fact and expert discovery, motions practice, settlement negotiations and trial.  She has represented clients in a broad range of civil litigation in federal and state court, including securities litigation, intellectual property disputes, complex contract disputes, and employment litigation.

Representative Matters

Financial/Commercial Litigation

• Represented credit rating agency in fraud dispute over ratings issued for complex, structured investment vehicles.
• Represented hedge fund as plaintiff in investment dispute against multi-national corporation resulting in a multi-million judgment in New York.
• Represented lenders in lawsuit seeking reformation of credit agreement and loan documents.

Intellectual Property and Trade Secret Litigation

• Represented software company in defense of trade secret misappropriation claims and related torts; obtained full dismissal and successfully litigated through trial counterclaims for bad faith misappropriation claims and confidentiality breaches.

• Represented hedge fund principals in defense of trade secret misappropriation claims and on related counterclaims.
• Represented user-generated content website in lawsuit alleging claims of copyright infringement and violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
• Defended online image-sharing platform against claims of unauthorized publication of plaintiffs’ artistic works.
• Represented high level technology corporation employee in lawsuit alleging trade secret misappropriation and violation of noncompetition agreement.

Employment Litigation

• Represented executive as plaintiff asserting defamation, retaliation and breach of contract claims.
• Represented large technology company in various non-solicit and non-compete disputes.
• Represented executive as plaintiff in breach of employment agreement and defense of non-compete counterclaims.

Professional History – Legal:

Prior to joining Zeisler PLLC as Counsel in January 2016, Meghan worked as an associate at Latham & Watkins LLP and Satterlee Stephens Burke & Burke LLP.

Meghan was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Benson Everett Legg in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.  She was also a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Lois Bloom in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Education

Meghan earned her undergraduate degree (A.B., ’01) in History cum laude from Princeton University, a Masters of Philosophy in International Peace Studies (M. Phil. ’02) from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, and her law degree (J.D. ’05) from the Columbia University School of Law, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and a member of the Columbia Law Review.
